Donations keep colorectal surgery at the Jewish General Hospital at the forefront of technology

Donor funds allowed the JGH’s Division of Colorectal Surgery to purchase a special remote-controlled multi-axis tilting operating table. Now, rather than realigning the robot’s arms to access different areas of the winding colon, surgeons can quickly and simply reposition the patient instead.
The result? Greater safety, improved efficiency, faster surgical procedures – and more tomorrows for patients.
Donors help fund ‘truly excellent’ upgrades to the JGH building

Donors are enabling major building upgrades and projects to enhance patient care and efficiency at the Jewish General Hospital (JGH). From helping to renovate the Radiology Department to supporting energy sustainability, every gift makes a lasting impact.
“Donor support allows us to move to a higher level of design that is far better for our staff and, most of all, our patients,” said Georges Bendavid, Director of Technical Services at the JGH.

Meet Dr. Perry Adler, a clinical psychologist who heads the JGH’s Teenage In-House Psychology Service (TIPS) within the Vicki and Stan Zack Family Teenage Health Unit. This vital service helps teens with depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, personality disorders, psychoses, mania and eating disorders, among other issues.
"We really appreciate the funds we get from donors," Dr. Adler emphasizes. "They support innovative programs that are important for early intervention, critical workshops for staff in schools, and helpful resources for teens.”
