Everyday Miracles

DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT UNTIL DECEMBER 31!

Within the walls of the Jewish General Hospital, miracles happen every day.

Just ask Jessica, a new mom, who spent 101 days in the Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit when her son Oliver was born at 25 weeks, weighing just 1.8 lbs. Or Barton, who has a new lease on life following single bypass surgery using the Da Vinci robot. Or Marie-Claude and Janin, patients who beat cancer after numerous rounds of treatment.

As a donor, I know it’s not always easy to see the immediate impact of your donations. So, below we’ve shared a few examples of miracles YOU helped make possible.

You see, your donation to the JGH annual fund helps make miracles happen. It gives us the flexibility to allocate funds where they make the most impact — particularly during this unprecedented time.

We have many needs, from purchasing new equipment, like the Da Vinci robot, and attracting the best surgical teams in the country, to investing in research to accelerate the discovery of new treatments and adapting our services in a post-pandemic world. The JGH annual fund acts as an emergency fund, allowing the hospital to respond to its greatest needs, no matter what they may be!

We know this fund is critical to helping patients like Jessica, Barton, and Marie-Claude receive the best possible outcomes, so we want to make even MORE miracles happen this holiday season. That is why, along with my fellow Board of Directors, we will MATCH YOUR DONATION dollar for dollar, until December 31.

This holiday season, please give generously and DOUBLE the impact of your donation.

Together, we can make miracles possible.

101 Days in the NICU

“Oliver was born extremely premature at 25 weeks and weighing only 1.8lbs. He required life support and medical attention for many months. After spending 101 days at the JGH, we were able to take Oliver home. Recently, we celebrated his first birthday. He is happy, healthy and we are so blessed. Miracles happen at the JGH, thanks to donors like you!” – The Benoualid Family

The miracle of research and medical breakthroughs

“On January 8, 2018, I was told that I was officially in remission. Immediately, tears of joy ran down my cheeks. After the second cycle of this new treatment, the cancer was gone. What news! And all thanks to research, which makes miracles happen every day.” – Janin, Cancer Warrior

The 15,000th Cardiac Surgery Patient

“Within one week of my bypass surgery, I was feeling like myself again. Now I’m back at work and doing the things I love. Everybody around
me can’t believe that I’m doing what I’m doing. It’s thanks to the Da Vinci robot, as well as the nurses and doctors at the JGH. They’re incredible human beings, and I have nothing but praise for them.” – Barton, Cardiac Patient

Young, grateful and cancer-free

“At the age of 34, I was diagnosed with metastatic non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. The news hit me hard. But thanks to the medical team at the JGH, I am doing well. I’m back to work, I’m able to play sports, and most importantly, I enjoy time with my family and friends. To everyone who is fighting their own battle against cancer, don’t give up! Miracles happen every day!” – Marie-Claude, Cancer Warrior
