CAROL AND NEIL WEINMAN’S COMMITMENT TO GENEROSITY
In a powerful testament to generosity and personal gratitude, Carol and Neil Weinman made a visionary gift to the JGH. Their donation is driven by a deeply personal connection with the Hospital.

At the heart of the Weinmans’ donation is the modernization of JGH’s Radiology Department, including the purchase of two state-of-the-art CT scanners and the creation of the Carol & Neil Weinman CT Suite, a purpose-built space featuring two CT rooms and a comfortable patient waiting area.
The impact of their gift extends further, providing vital support for the Division of Orthopedic Surgery and empowering the Hospital to move forward on its highest-priority projects. These enhancements will ensure the JGH remains a leader in medical innovation, while continuing to offer world-class, compassionate care to patients from across Quebec and beyond.

A LIFETIME OF PURPOSE
Neil Weinman was born in the 1930s at the JGH, four years after the Hospital was created. He grew up in a Jewish family of modest means in Montreal’s Plateau neighbourhood. In his 40s, Mr. Weinman launched a company specializing in expert packaging solutions with a focus on consumer goods – most notably, premium alcoholic beverage gift sets. The company also expanded into the import and export of specialty products. Over the years, it has earned the trust of renowned clients that are national distilleries.
Together, the Weinmans have long supported the JGH. Their first contribution helped fund endocrinology equipment for patients with diabetes. Since then, they have proudly supported the purchase of state-of-the-art Da Vinci robots and have contributed to advancements in orthopedics and urology.
Their profoundly generous gift is more than a financial contribution – it is a commitment to exceptional healthcare. It ensures that others, just like Neil Weinman, will have access to the life-saving care that only a hospital like the JGH can provide.
