2012 is your year to be part of it!
The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer is a history-making event, the biggest fundraiser of its kind in the province. Cyclists of all levels and abilities come together to ride over two days in Quebec's beautiful countryside with the common goal of conquering cancer.
The dedication and hard work of the riders to, not only, physically train for the event, but also to raise funds has been remarkable. Indeed, in just 3 short years, they have raised more than $19 million. In turn, these funds are allowing the Segal Cancer Centre here at the Jewish General Hospital to continue its vital research and to consistently improve the care and services that it offers to its patients. Funds also benefit our partner hospitals: the University of Quebec Hospital Centre (CHUQ), the Trois-Rivières Regional Hospital Centre (CHRTR) and the Gatineau Health and Social Services Centre (CSSS de Gatineau).
However, our struggle to overcome this insidious disease is not yet at its end. Currently, 2 in 5 Canadians will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime. We are still losing too many loved ones; watching too many of them suffer. We still need to ride!
Register! Get your bike and your helmet and join us on July 7th and 8th, 2012 as we ride through the beautiful Quebec countryside in support of the fight against cancer.
