It’s all about people
Throughout its storied history, the Jewish General Hospital has always managed to rise to the challenge and remain at the forefront of scientific discovery, innovation and clinical excellence for the greater benefit of the many diverse communities it serves. Today, the JGH has a well-earned reputation as one of the premier hospitals in Montreal and Quebec, as much for the quality of the care it provides as for its family atmosphere, the compassion of its staff and its unique focus on the patient as a person first and foremost.
The challenges may vary but the key to our continued success is always the same: people. People who not only provide superior care but who go above and beyond because they care for the well-being and health of other people. People who share the endearing values and qualities that make the JGH such a special and valued institution: commitment, compassion and excellence. Quality people who make a difference.
The ability of the JGH to meet the current and future healthcare needs of our fellow citizens from Montreal and Quebec is driven first and foremost by the JGH community – from our doctors, researchers, nurses and other health professionals whose vision, compassion and expertise are shaping the future of healthcare, to our friendly and caring support staff and volunteers, to our donors, canvassers and partners whose dedication and support empower us to turn our vision into reality. A strong partnership between those we serve and our many supporters is what enables us to make things happen.
The Vital Initiatives section of our website presents some of the exciting new projects that are part of our plan to build on these strengths and values and put in place the latest skills and technology that will drive continued excellence in patient care, research and teaching. All of these initiatives respond to a key question: What facilities can we renovate or build, what equipment can we acquire, what programs and services can we implement so as to allow our staff to do the best job they can, to attract and recruit the best health professionals and to make a real difference to the health and well-being of our patients in the short and long term? These vital areas of innovation will result in enhanced health care outcomes for all the communities we serve.
We all have a vested interest in accessible, quality healthcare, and by working together we can achieve our common goal of better health and better healthcare for the people of Montreal and Quebec, now and in the future. We do know that we can count upon your goodwill and support as we strive to meet these challenges.
